ABOUT:

The Hamsie challenge? The concept originated from a competition held by the CWA at the Goondiwindi Show, where participants used 10 craft styles to interpret a theme that changes annually. Our members were so inspired by this idea that they created their own challenge, but with a twist – using only 5 items instead of 10.

Theme: South West Outback

An artistic Display of 5 articles judged on quality, variety, aesthetic appeal and adherence to the theme “South West Outback””.

Besides the Overall Display, each article in the display will be awarded points out of 10. There will also be a bonus of 1 point for each different craft.

Each exhibitor is required to have 5 individual articles from any of the Pavilion Sections: Floral Art, Photography, Art, Jams & Preserves, Handicraft, etc. Limited accessories may be used to achieve the desired artistic effect. Not all from the same class.

Each item needs to be grown/handmade by entrant.

Each display will be accompanied by a listing of articles entered with Section and Class.

Exhibits to use no more than 100cm shelf space.

Displays to be completed and in place by 12 noon Saturday, 2nd May 2026.

Nomination Fee: $5

Overall Artistic Display 1st - $150.00; 2nd - $50.00; 3rd - $25.00

Most Points 1st - $100.00; 2nd - $75.00; 3rd $25.00
